Roger Payne

BIO:

Roger's writing chronicles the truth so that it collides with humour and makes mini-explosions of absurdity. He is living proof that the genetic strand principle needs re-evaluating. His birthplace was almost certainly Wales, as it was always cold, dark and constantly rained 'cats and dogs'. He escaped the weather by volunteering to suffer the mental and physical agonies that were the selection process for entry into the elite Parachute Regiment, and by a miracle passed. His next challenge was getting his wife to marry him, and he was stunned when she said yes. He then persuaded the Australian Government that he would be an important asset to their Defence Force. The ploy paid off and they flew him and his growing family to the Antipodes. It turns out that he was an asset, and in the process earned a Chief of the Defence Force Commendation, and one of Australia's highest awards, the Order of Australia. Forty years later he occasionally uses words like 'fair dinkum', is still happily married, and has three adult children who can confirm his insanity.
